What can I say, I was always way better in math and art class than English... I feel great that there was a whole ton of site views yesterday and into today, but wondering if people "get" what I am asking for here from them?
Feel free to chime in here on the blog or on facebook, or send me an angry text, whatever if you all think I've gone off the deep end with this project.
Hopefully everyone is understanding that the stories they submit will be transcribed onto paper and used in lieu of the pre-printed book pages from the original work. I also plan to play with the scale of the pages, keeping some to the usual size of book pages, while others may be micro sized or vastly scaled up... making more sense now?
I am not looking for people to submit their life's story, but just little snippets of those little things that nag at us.
As I sit here typing this, I hesitate to even write this next part to give an example of what I am talking about as far as story submissions, but I might as well bare all if I am asking you all to do that too (but you get to be anonymous, ahh- the joy of being the art maker). Please don't judge me for this next part, I was 11 and what else can I say, so this is something that has gnawed at me for 20 years. The big massive woulda, coulda, shoulda that can never be undone.
I honestly can't remember what the issue was that evening or why I had a bug up my ass, but I went to bed without saying goodnight to anyone in the house, just off I went. My father died the next morning of a heart-attack. The last thing I ever said to him was nothing at all.
I am not looking for all depressing type stories, hopefully now people are starting to understand the point of the project.
I don't plan to post blog entries everyday, but just wanted to add a little more clarity to what I am seeking.
